A14 blocked due to police incident

Emergency services respond to major crash

The A14 was completely blocked in Cambridgeshire after a 5-car crash. Long delays are expected after emergency services were called to the scene between junction 27 and 28 at 8:20am this morning (Tuesday).

Police have since closed all lanes on the road in both directions to allow the air ambulance to land.

Highways England said the vehicles involved were a lorry, a van and three cars.

Cambridgeshire Police urges drivers to find alternative routes

Police have asked drivers to avoid the area and to seek alternative routes. Highways England have also said that there are delays of more than 60 minutes above normal travel time.

There are currently 10 miles of congestion on the A14 westbound and four miles on the eastbound carriageway.

One witness said a car had flipped over as a result of the collision.

It's not yet known if there have been any serious injuries as a result of the incident.
