Fulham Confirm Andersen Transfer from Crystal Palace

Official Announcement from Craven Cottage

Fulham Football Club has officially announced the signing of defender Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace. The deal, reportedly worth around £30 million, sees Andersen reunite with his former loan club.

Five-Year Contract for Danish International

Andersen, a 28-year-old Danish international, has signed a five-year contract with Fulham. He spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Craven Cottage from Lyon, making 31 appearances and scoring one goal.

Crystal Palace had initially rejected two bids from Fulham for Andersen, but the clubs eventually reached an agreement.

Strengthening Fulham's Defense

Andersen's signing is seen as a major coup for Fulham as they look to strengthen their defense ahead of the new season. He is an experienced and versatile defender, capable of playing in multiple positions across the back line.

Manager Marco Silva will be hoping that Andersen can form a solid partnership with Tosin Adarabioyo at the heart of the Fulham defense.

Crystal Palace's Loss

While Fulham will be delighted to have secured Andersen's services, Crystal Palace will be disappointed to lose a key player. Andersen was a regular starter for the Eagles last season, making 35 Premier League appearances.

However, with the emergence of Marc Guehi and Chris Richards, Crystal Palace felt that they could afford to sell Andersen and reinvest the funds in other areas of the squad.
