Areola Axe, Midfield Conundrum and a Race to the Dole Queue
Areola's Axe
Alphonse Areola's loan spell at West Ham has been cut short, with the goalkeeper returning to parent club Paris Saint-Germain.
Areola had been a regular for the Hammers, making 18 appearances in all competitions, but he has been recalled by PSG due to injuries to Keylor Navas and Sergio Rico.
West Ham are now in the market for a new goalkeeper, with David Moyes keen to bring in a replacement before the end of the transfer window.
Midfield Conundrum
West Ham's midfield has been a problem area for much of the season, with Moyes struggling to find a settled combination.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips, but a deal is yet to be agreed.
Other options include Manchester United's Donny van de Beek and Lyon's Houssem Aouar, but both players would be expensive signings.
Race to the Dole Queue
West Ham are currently 18th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.
The Hammers have won just one of their last six league games, and they face a tough run of fixtures in the coming weeks.
Moyes is under increasing pressure to turn things around, and he will need to find a way to improve his team's form quickly if he wants to avoid the drop.
