"Can't Compare It to Freiburg": Christian Streich on Club, Tradition, and Politics

Christian Streich has been the coach of SC Freiburg for over eleven years. In an interview with the "Süddeutsche Zeitung," he talks about the club's tradition, his political commitment, and his views on the future of football.

"We are not a typical club," says Streich. "We have a special tradition, a special spirit."

This tradition is based on values such as humility, modesty, and solidarity. "We are a family club," says Streich. "We look after each other, we support each other." This spirit is also reflected in the club's political commitment. SC Freiburg is one of the few clubs in the Bundesliga that has a clear political profile. The club supports social projects and campaigns against racism and discrimination.

"I think it's important to take a stand," says Streich. "Football is more than just a game. It's a social phenomenon. And we have a responsibility to use our platform to make the world a better place."

This is a big dream, but Streich believes that it is possible. "If we all work together, we can make it happen," he says. "Football can be a powerful tool for change. Let's use it to build a better future for all."
