Gaugisch: “It Was Tough Today, but We’ll Learn From It.”
Cologne midfielder admits defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt was tough.
Cologne midfielder Florian Kainz admits that the 3-0 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt was a tough one to take.
“It was a tough one today,” Kainz said after the match. “We played well in the first half, but we made too many mistakes in the second half and they punished us. This is a tough one to take, but I’m sure we’ll learn from it.
Cologne took the lead in the first half through Kainz, but Frankfurt came back strong in the second half and scored three goals to take all three points.
“We started well and we had some good chances, but we didn’t take them,” Kainz said. “And then they scored two goals in quick succession and it was hard to come back from that.
“We’re disappointed with the result, but we’ll learn from it and we’ll come back stronger next time. We have a lot of games coming up and we need to get back on track.”
Cologne will next face Borussia Monchengladbach in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday before returning to Bundesliga action against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
