Hibernian boss David Gray hoping its third time lucky against long-time foes Hearts
Gray has yet to taste victory in four attempts against Hearts as Hibs boss
Hibernian manager David Gray will be looking to break his duck against city rivals Hearts for the third time when the two sides meet in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
The Easter Road boss has yet to win in four attempts against the Jambos, with his side drawing twice and losing twice in the previous encounters.
Both fixtures last season ended in 1-1 stalemates, while in season 2020-21 Hibs were defeated 2-1 and 3-1 by Robbie Neilson’s men.
However, Gray is confident that his team can put a stop to their poor run against Hearts and pick up a vital three points in the race for third place in the Scottish Premiership.
“We know that Hearts are a good side and they will be tough opponents, but we are confident that we can go there and get a positive result,” Gray said.
“We have a good squad of players and we are in good form at the moment, so we just need to focus on ourselves and play our own game.
“We know that the fans will be right behind us and we will give them something to cheer about.”
Hibs go into the match on the back of a 2-0 victory away to Dundee United, while Hearts lost 2-0 at home to Celtic.
The match will be played at Tynecastle Park on Saturday, March 11, and kick-off is at 12.30pm.
