Reds prepare for Anfield encounter

Liverpool were put through their paces at the AXA Training Centre on Friday as they stepped up preparations for Tuesday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's side will be looking to make it three wins from three at the start of the new campaign when they welcome the Reds to Anfield.

And they were in good spirits as they went through their drills in front of the cameras at Kirkby.

Liverpool will be without the suspended Darwin Nunez for the game, but Klopp has a number of other options to choose from in attack.

Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino are all available, while Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott have also impressed in pre-season.

At the back, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip are expected to start in central defense, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson at full-back.

In midfield, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are likely to be the preferred trio.

Liverpool will be confident of victory against Liverpool, who have lost their last two Premier League games.

However, Klopp will be wary of the threat posed by the Reds, who have a number of dangerous players in their squad.

The game is sure to be a close encounter, and it could have a major bearing on the title race.
