Inzaghi: "Motta's Serie A favourites claim is exaggerated"

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has dismissed claims made by former teammate Thiago Motta that Juventus are the clear favourites to win the 2023/24 Serie A title.

Motta, who is now manager of Serie B side Genoa, had stated in a recent interview that he believes Juventus are the strongest team in Italy and are the favourites to win the Scudetto.

However, Inzaghi, who led Inter to the Serie A title last season, believes that there are several teams who can challenge Juventus for the title, including his own side.

"I think it's a bit exaggerated to say that Juventus are the clear favourites," Inzaghi said in a press conference on Friday.

"There are a lot of strong teams in Serie A this season, and I think it's going to be a very competitive race for the title. We're confident that we can be one of the teams fighting for the Scudetto, and we're going to give it our all to win it again."
