## London Underground strike: No more RMT sellouts, build rank and file committees to unite all Tube workers **The RMT union’s latest plans for an “indefinite” strike on the London Underground is a desperate attempt to salvage a deal that is totally unacceptable to the workers.** The deal, negotiated by the RMT leadership, will see 4% pay cuts, job losses, and a freeze on pensions. It is a sellout that would tie London Underground workers to another two years of austerity and cuts. The RMT bosses haven’t offered any plan to stop this deal going through beyond more strikes. This is no longer enough—the RMT has to take action to stop union bureaucrats making deals that damage our members. **Now is the time to build rank and file committees to unite Tube workers and take industrial action to kick out the Tories and the union bosses who do their bidding.** Rank and file committees are elected by the workers themselves, and are not beholden to any union bureaucracy. They can coordinate action between different grades with a joint programme of struggle. On the London Underground, a rank and file committee could coordinate strike action with LU workers at depots, stations, and on different shifts. They could also reach out to other unions and coordinate joint action to maximize impact. The Tube unions need to take industrial action and coordinate that action from below.
