Rangers vs. St Mirren: Prediction, Team News, Lineups
Preview
Rangers will be looking to continue their perfect start to the Scottish Premiership season when they host St Mirren at Ibrox on Saturday. The Gers have won their opening two games of the campaign, scoring eight goals and conceding none, and will be confident of extending that run against a St Mirren side who have lost their last two matches.
St Mirren have had a difficult start to the season, losing to Livingston and Aberdeen in their opening two games. However, they will be looking to cause an upset at Ibrox and will be buoyed by their record against Rangers in recent years. The Buddies have won two of their last three meetings with the Gers, including a 2-1 victory at Ibrox last season.
Team News
Rangers will be without Alfredo Morelos, who is suspended after being sent off in the win over Kilmarnock last weekend. Kemar Roofe is also a doubt with a knock, so Fashion Sakala is likely to lead the line for the Gers.
St Mirren will be without long-term injury absentee Greg Tansey, but otherwise have a fully fit squad to choose from.
Predicted Lineups
Rangers: McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Sands, Barisic; Lundstram, Jack, Kamara; Kent, Sakala, Wright
St Mirren: Carson; Fraser, Shaughnessy, Dunne, Tanser; Baccus, Erhahon; Durmus, McGinn, Greive; Ayunga
Prediction
Rangers will be strong favorites to win this game, but St Mirren have shown in the past that they can be a dangerous opponent. However, the Gers are in excellent form and should have too much quality for the Buddies.
Prediction: Rangers 3-1 St Mirren
