Report: Manchester United joins Bayern Munich on list of clubs Sebastian Hoeness rejected
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic says he spoke to Sebastian Hoeness about a move to Manchester United, but the defender wants to stay at Hoffenheim.
Sebastian Hoeness has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Manchester United, with the defender keen to remain at Hoffenheim.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, but according to Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, Hoeness is not interested in leaving his current club.
"I spoke to Sebastian Hoeness about a possible transfer to Manchester United," Salihamidzic told Sky Germany. "But he told me that he wants to stay at Hoffenheim."
Hoeness has been a key player for Hoffenheim since joining the club from Bayern Munich in 2019. He has made 74 appearances for the Bundesliga side, scoring four goals.
The defender has also been capped by Germany at international level, making his debut in 2020.
Manchester United are in need of a new centre-back, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof struggling for form this season.
However, it appears that Hoeness is not interested in making the move to Old Trafford, and United will have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.
