Suspicious object in Downpatrick car declared nothing untoward
Object found by member of public who called police
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were called to the scene of a suspicious object found in a car in Downpatrick on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.
Police cordoned off the area around the vehicle while they investigated the object, which was later declared to be nothing untoward
A member of the public called the police to report the suspicious object, which was discovered in a parked car on the Ballymote Road in the town.
Police cordoned off the area while they investigated the object, which was later declared to be nothing untoward.
The road was closed for a short time while the police carried out their inquiries, but it has since reopened.
The PSNI have thanked the member of the public for their vigilance and have appealed to anyone with any information to contact them.
