Wolfsburg. The works council of the Wolfsburg carmaker Volkswagen (VW) has announced information events on the upcoming talks with the group management on the future strategy. The first event will take place on March 8th in Wolfsburg, followed by further events at other VW locations.
The talks between the works council and the group management are scheduled to begin in mid-March. The aim is to develop a future strategy for the Wolfsburg carmaker that will secure jobs and locations in the long term.
VW works council chairman Daniela Cavallo said: "We want to explore possible options for the future with the group management. The focus is on securing jobs and locations in the long term. We are convinced that we can only achieve this together with the employees.
Cavallo also emphasized the importance of employee participation in the strategy process. "We want to involve the employees in the shaping of the future of VW. After all, they are the ones who know best where the shoe pinches," said Cavallo.
The works council has already set up a task force to prepare for the talks with the group management. The task force is made up of experts from various departments of the company.
The talks between the works council and the group management are expected to last several months. The aim is to reach an agreement on a future strategy for VW by the end of the year.
