VW-Lkw-Holding Traton: Solid Order Situation

Traton Group

The Volkswagen subsidiary Traton is bucking the trend in the commercial vehicle industry and is reporting a solid level of orders.

Orders from Europe

The strong demand comes mainly from Europe, where orders increased by 32 percent in the first quarter. Traton benefited from the recovery in the construction and transport sectors.

Demand for Heavy Trucks

Particularly in demand are heavy trucks from MAN and Scania. Traton's order backlog for heavy trucks in Europe rose by 60 percent year-on-year to 63,000 vehicles.

Outlook for 2023

Traton CEO Christian Levin is confident about the rest of the year: "We expect a further increase in incoming orders and sales in the coming months."

The company is also benefiting from the growing demand for e-trucks. In May, Traton presented a new generation of electric trucks from MAN and Scania.

Despite the uncertain economic situation, Traton is optimistic about the future. The company has a strong order backlog and is well-positioned in the growing market for e-trucks.
