“We Want to Find Heike!”: People from Vöhrum Start Search Operation
More than 40 People Search for Missing Woman in the Vöhrum Area
Peine - On Sunday evening, Heike K. (52) from Vöhrum did not return home. Since then, her family has been desperately searching for her. On Monday, the police started a search operation with a helicopter and a sniffer dog, but so far without success. That's why friends and neighbors decided to take matters into their own hands and started their own search operation on Tuesday.
Together in Search of Heike K.
More than 40 people met on Tuesday afternoon at the meeting point, the Netto car park in Vöhrum. Equipped with maps, flashlights, and warm clothing, they set off in several groups to search the surrounding area. The focus was on fields, forests, and bodies of water. Passers-by were asked if they had seen the missing woman.
The search operation was initiated by Heike K.'s neighbor, Bianca S. (48). "We can't just sit at home and wait," she said. "We want to find Heike and bring her home." The participants included friends, neighbors, and even people who had never met Heike K. before but wanted to help. The mood was determined, but also concerned.
The search operation continued into the evening hours. At dusk, the search parties returned to the meeting point to share their findings. Unfortunately, there were no new clues. The search will continue on Wednesday.
