Matadors Travel to Northridge for Two-Game Series
The Cal State Northridge Matadors (12-7, 6-2 Big West) will host the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (11-6, 5-2 Big West) in a two-game series, beginning on Friday night.
The matches will be the first for the Matadors at home since October 16, when they defeated the UC San Diego Tritons in four sets.
The Gauchos will enter the series with a two-match winning streak, having defeated the Cal Poly Mustangs in three sets on Thursday night.
Scouting the Gauchos
The Gauchos are led by senior outside hitter Lily Yovino, who ranks second in the Big West in kills per set (4.57) and third in hitting percentage (.373).
Senior middle blocker Deni Wilson is also a key player for the Gauchos, averaging 2.98 kills per set and 1.04 blocks per set.
Sophomore setter Julia Barajas leads the Big West in assists per set (10.19), and she has also recorded 185 digs and 37 blocks this season.
