CeeDee Lamb Responds to Troy Aikman's 'Lazy' Receivers Comment
Lamb Calls Aikman's Comments 'Unfair' and 'Uninformed'
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has responded to comments made by former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman, who said that the team's receivers were "lazy" during their Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Lamb said that Aikman's comments were "unfair" and "uninformed." Lamb said that he and his teammates "put in the work" and that they are "not lazy."
Lamb's Stats Back Up His Claims
Lamb's stats back up his claims. He led the Cowboys in receiving in Week 1, with six catches for 75 yards. He also had a long reception of 30 yards.
Lamb's performance in Week 1 was a continuation of his strong play from last season. In 2021, Lamb had 79 catches for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns.
Aikman's Comments Were Based on One Game
Aikman's comments were based on one game, and it is unfair to judge the Cowboys' receivers based on one performance.
The Cowboys' offense struggled as a whole in Week 1, and the receivers were not the only ones who played poorly. The offensive line allowed six sacks, and the running game was ineffective.
Cowboys Receivers Have Potential
The Cowboys' receivers have the potential to be one of the best in the NFL. Lamb is a rising star, and he is joined by Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz.
If the Cowboys' offensive line can improve and the running game can get going, the receivers will have more opportunities to make plays.
