Musiala, Kane inspire Bayern to 5-0 Bochum stroll
Bayern Munich continued their fine form with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Bochum on Saturday, with Jamal Musiala and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scoring two goals apiece.
Musiala put the visitors ahead after just nine minutes, clinically finishing a pass from Serge Gnabry. Bayern doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when Kingsley Coman crossed for Choupo-Moting to head home.
The hosts offered little resistance in the second half and Bayern continued to dominate the chances, with Gnabry adding a third in the 69th minute and Musiala scoring his second of the game just three minutes later. Substitute Thomas Muller completed the rout in the 81st minute with a cool finish from close range.
The win sees Bayern move back to the top of the Bundesliga table, two points ahead of Union Berlin. Bochum remain in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.
Musiala has been in excellent form for Bayern this season, scoring six goals in his last seven appearances. The 19-year-old has been likened to former Bayern great Thomas Muller, and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players in Europe.
Choupo-Moting has also been in impressive form in recent weeks, deputising for the injured Robert Lewandowski. The 33-year-old has scored five goals in his last four appearances for Bayern.
Bayern will be hoping to continue their good form when they face Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday. The German champions will be looking to avenge their 3-0 defeat in the first leg at the Camp Nou.
