Nelson Hertha Released by Orlando City

Orlando City SC have announced the release of defender Nelson Hertha.

The 29-year-old Brazilian joined the Lions in 2020 and made 45 appearances for the club.

He was a key member of the team that won the US Open Cup in 2022.

Hertha's departure comes as Orlando City look to rebuild their squad ahead of the 2023 season.

The club has already signed several new players, including winger Gaston Gonzalez and midfielder Cesar Araujo.

Hertha is a free agent and is now available to sign with any club.

He is expected to attract interest from several MLS teams, as well as clubs in Europe and South America.

Orlando City are currently in preseason training and will open their 2023 campaign on February 25 against the New England Revolution.
