Police: Car driver seriously injured after truck knocks tree onto his car

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on the L1019 near Saalburg-Ebersdorf

A car driver was seriously injured in an accident on the L1019 near Saalburg-Ebersdorf in the Saale-Orla district on Thursday afternoon.

According to the police, a truck was driving in the direction of Saalburg when a tree crashed onto the road. The car driver, who was driving behind the truck, could no longer avoid the obstacle and collided with the tree.

The car driver was seriously injured in the accident and had to be taken to a hospital by ambulance. The truck driver was not injured.

The L1019 was closed for several hours while the emergency services worked at the scene of the accident. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
